Ingredients
1lbPotato, cut into bite sized
4tbspSoy sauce
2tbspMirin
1tbspSugar syrup (or sugar)
1/2cupWater
2tspSesame oil
1cloveGarlic, minced
1tspSesame seeds (garnish)
Instructions
Prep the potatoes: Rinse potatoes well and trim away bruised spots. Cut into small bite sizes (for me it is a 2 inch cube).
Cook the potatoes: Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the potatoes, and pan fry for 2-3 minutes
Braise with sauce: Once the potatoes are browned, add soy sauce, mirin, sugar syrup, water and minced garlic. Bring to a boil, then reduce to medium heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add final touches: Turn off heat and add sesame oil. Toss well and ensure potatoes are coated with the sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds. Enjoy!
