Ingredients

  • 1 lb Potato, cut into bite sized
  • 4 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Mirin
  • 1 tbsp Sugar syrup (or sugar)
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds (garnish)

Instructions

  • Prep the potatoes: Rinse potatoes well and trim away bruised spots. Cut into small bite sizes (for me it is a 2 inch cube).
  • Cook the potatoes: Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the potatoes, and pan fry for 2-3 minutes
  • Braise with sauce: Once the potatoes are browned, add soy sauce, mirin, sugar syrup, water and minced garlic. Bring to a boil, then reduce to medium heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Add final touches: Turn off heat and add sesame oil. Toss well and ensure potatoes are coated with the sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds. Enjoy!
